Q2. Can I change or cancel my appointment?
You can change or cancel your appointment, three hours before your appointed timeslot at the latest, easily via www.gov.hk/tdabs for driving licence related services, www.gov.hk/vabs for vehicle licence renewal, transfer of vehicle ownership, or retention/assignment of vehicle registration mark or www.gov.hk/idpabs for international driving permit, https://www.gov.hk/en/residents/transport/drivinglicense/absfdl.htm for Issue of Full Hong Kong Driving Licence or Issue/Extension of Temporary Driving Licence Application or call our hotline at (852) 3763 8080. To allow making good use of timeslots, we encourage those who cannot show up at their appointed timeslots to change or cancel the appointment as early as possible.

Q4. What are the benefits of using the Appointment Booking Service? ABS
The Appointment Booking Service is easy to use and free of charge. Having an appointment, you or your agent can submit applications for renewal of vehicle licence, transfer of vehicle ownership, retention/assignment of vehicle registration mark, international driving permit or full driving licence or various driving licence-related services including:
  • Renewal of Full Driving Licence
  • New Issue or Addition of Full Driving Licence/ New Issue, Renewal or Addition of Driving Instructor's Licence
  • New Issue, Extension or Addition of Probationary Driving Licence
  • Learner's Driving Licence (Private Car, Light Goods Vehicle, Motor Cycle and Motor Tricycle)
  • Learner's Driving Licence (Commercial Vehicles)
  • Driving Test (Private Car, Light Goods Vehicle, Motor Cycle and Motor Tricycle)
  • Duplicate of Driving Licence and Driving Instructor's Licence

Q5. What are the system requirements of the computer used by Internet users of the Appointment Booking Service?
The Appointment Booking Service is designed to work with the operating systems and software used by the majority of visitors to our website. Please see the section System Requirements for GovHK Online Services for further details.
Q6. Is there any time out limit for the Appointment Booking Service?
The Appointment Booking Service will automatically log out if you leave your computer idle for longer than 15 minutes.
Q7. How do I know I have successfully made a valid appointment?
After you enter all requested information, the Appointment Booking Service will ask you to confirm whether the information is correct and if so, whether you wish to receive an appointment confirmation by fax or email.
Q8. After making appointment, is there anything else that I should do for confirmation?
No re-confirmation is required after an appointment booking is confirmed.
Q9. I have tried several times and still cannot book a desired timeslot. What can I do?
It is possible that your desired timeslot at the Licensing Office has been fully booked and you may try to book other timeslots at the Licensing Office. You may also check whether the timeslot is available at other Licensing Offices.

You may call 1823 whenever you have any enquiry about the Appointment Booking Service.
Q11. If the services under Licensing Offices have been suspended due to adverse weather or other reasons, what shall I do with my appointment timeslot?
